Like a tender shoot. . .

We have been enjoying the beautiful 80 degree weather in March these last few days and it has really made me desire to be outside and in God's beautiful creation. I walked around my apartment complex today admiring the new life and growth that happens each Spring...I had to enjoy it today because I'm not sure all of the GORGEOUSNESS will last us through the work week! The contrast between the winter and spring plants reminded my of Isaiah 53 which prophecies the life and death of Jesus. It's a great passage to study during this season of Lent...(which I gave up pop for and has been AWFULLY challenging, but stretching for me!)
I hope you enjoy some of the pictures from my walk and of our cuddly kitty, Lacy.

I have been memorizing (along with the 2nd and 3rd grade Sunday School class at church) the song "Hosanna" and it has been shaping the way that I think about Christ and the journey that he endured here on earth. If you get a chance, listen to the song:

Have a wonderful week!!

Waiting

This morning as I was driving to watch one of my student's basketball games, I began thinking about our life in Noblesville over the last few months. In many ways, it seems we've been doing a lot of waiting, a lot of wishing, and a lot of praying and still don't have any answers.

Joe has recorded in Nashville, but we have yet to hear any MP3s from the recording or to work on the album further. It's difficult for Joe to market himself and to move forward with his musical passions without his new music. It's easy to get discouraged and to question God's timing and plan, but right now he is simply calling us to wait on Him. Our lease in our apartment is up at the end of August. Do we stay in Indy or do we move? Does Joe continue to pay the bills as an accountant, or is this our chance to take a leap of faith and pursue his music career?

Thankfully, I don't have to know the answers, because a God who has known me before I was born has a plan for us and will take care of us. While it might feel like we are in the wilderness waiting right now, God is faithful and will answer us in His timing. We will learn patience and actively WAIT in the process...

““For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”" Isaiah 55:8-9 NIV

PS--busy season lasts for 45 more days which in my mind is 48 days too long.

Music Row

This past weekend, my husband had the incredible opportunity to record his new EP in Nashville, TN. He recorded in the Quad Studios where many well known artists such as Taylor Swift and Amy Grant have also recorded. It was amazing to be in a place with so much history and to see my husband so excited about his music. God is so good to have allowed us this opportunity. John David Webster helped Joe produce the album and the musicians that played on this album have played with Faith Hill, Mat Kearney, and SO MANY other outstanding musicians. Please enjoy the photos from our weekend, and if you haven't already, like his Facebook page...facebook.com/joepaulsonmusic. Have a blessed week!!
